Smile LS 105K Miles - Need Maitenance Hints

Hi,

I need to have others service my 3-door hatchback 1996 Integra
with 105K miles.

Dealer service to replace front brake pads and glaze off front rotors
is $295.00. Replacing back brake pads alone is $195.00. The 105K
service, which does not appear to include much is $290.00. This seems
like highway robbery to me, but I need to keep my car in good condition, and I don't know anything about cars.

I need your help to tell me what parts I should look out for very carefully as I put more than 105K miles on this car. A guy at work told me to make sure I got the timing belt replaced because if it broke, the whole engine would go. So I had the timing belt replaced at about 90K miles.

Can you give me any other hints?

Also, does anyone know anything about the anti-lock brakes on these vehicles. After I had the car in at the dealer for the timing belt replacement, the ABS light went on consistently. They told me it was OK to drive with the light on and that I just would not have ABS. The repair estimate was as follows: accumulator $264.00, modulator $936.00.
What are these parts? Why are they so expensive? Is the car safe without the repairs? This does not, I believe, include labor.

Please help.

Thanks much!!
