Talking Hand brake Issue!!

well i went to my girlfriends today. and i parked in the driveway and pulled my parking brake..... then Snap it felt like there was a line connected to the brake and it just snapped and now when i pull the brake it glides nice and easy all the way up without any tension at all..

Any Suggestions on how to fix?

How to Check if i broke it and need a new one?

Thanks,

Twinz99

Re: Hand brake Issue!!

Put the car on four jack stands. Use a flashlight and follow the emergency cable from the rear wheels along the frame until it goes through the floor.
It also could have broken close to the foot brake pedal.
After the problem is located a trip to a junk yard for parts is in order. The dealer also can get parts.

Re: Hand brake Issue!!

I'm worried about my hand brake too, it only clicks about twice before it's fully engaged, I'm not sure if this is normal or a previous owner/mechanic had tightened the cable too much.
