Yesterday after a severe storm we had I found that the vent motor in my car is not operating. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner with your hand over the nozzle.
Happened one other time before when the car got hit with high power blowers at a car wash. Is there any way I can open this vent without taking it all apart? I cannot use the A/C or anything else. And I need it in Texas. Thanks! John |

Re: Vent Motor 2005 Impala
So the blower works but there is no airflow through the vents?
Have you checked to see if the cabin filter is wet? What happens if you set it to recirculate instead of fresh air?

OK guess I am uneducated here... have not tried recirculate, and where is the cabin filter?
Thanks John

Tried recirculate and still the same. Maybe if I pull the filter I can open the vent.

CASE CLOSED! all fixed!
Took the cowl off and in the passenger side of the car is the filter. I pulled it. Weighed about 5 pounds all wet and full of S***. I ran the A/C with the filter out and it was being in a wind tunnel. The car cooled FAST! Replaced the filter part was about 18 bucks at Auto Zone. There is a gasket that goes between the cowl and the filter. MAKE SURE you replace the gasket BACK to where it goes. Without that gasket your car will fill with rain water. I glued mine back into place. Reassembled the car and it is back in business. Recirculate is back in business too. Thanks all for your help! Now if we can figure out what to do with the thousands of Grasshoppers we have here .................................................. . John
