98 voyager instrument cluster
Here's a problem/fix I thought I'd share with this forum. all instruments in the cluster stopped working. i googled the problem and got lots if hits. suggested fixes included checking power at the 10 amp fuse #2 ( which was physically in the 3rd position on the fuse panel, bottom row, left of the brake pedal). the ign sw must be in the on position for this fuse to get power. there's a diode in series so the voltage should read somewhat under 12v depending on how charged your batt is. next, removing/cleaning/soldering the panel circuit board was recommended. DISCONNECT batt negative cable b4 you do this tho. this prevents accidental air bag blowout. one individuals found no problems in this area and simply reinstalled and the gauges returned to life. i checked for 12v at the 2 pins on the board (pink wire, pin 2; red/white wire, pin 11; ground is pin 7, blk/lt grn). recommend getting long test wire and connect to batt negative to insure continuity of pin 7 to ground. one power pin (2) is fused direct, the other gets there thru ign (see above) key, pin 11. my circuit board looked like new but i purchased one for 50 at the junkyard and installed. no fix. checked continuity of all wires including the ones under the batt holder. another individual had batt acid damage to those wires. he fixed the wires, presto. my wires werent damaged. everything pointed to the Body Control Module behind the Junction box left of brake pedal. bought a used one for 80. lucked out. all instruments running.
