01 Wagon odo roll

Got a 01 Taurus Wagon, Vulcan. Used. Minutes after picking it up I was rear-ended by someone else who was rear-ended by some doped up kids. I got hit at about 5mph? probably less, bumper to bumper; no damage whatsoever to my vehicle. Later the check engine light came on.. ? As well as I was parked running, and I noticed the actual miles on the odometer were going up, very slowly; about as slow as the 1/10 trip meter. It did that for about six miles, even after I turned the car off and back on. It didn't happen today though..

Another thing, whenever I put it in gear it grabs it like I dumped the clutch; though it's AT, sometimes overpowering the breaks. Idk. Just gives me a feeling the tranny's gonna go =\

Welcome to the forum!

Doesn't sound like you picked a good day to buy a car!

I'd suggest you start by having the diagnostic codes pulled to see if you happen to have a code related to the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
