91 Buick PA acceleration issues
I've purchased a 91 Buick PA about 7 months ago and it had 97,000 miles. Now I'm closing in on 100,000 miles and it jerks and stalls when I accelerate. When I try to push the pedal to the floor to accelerate it bucks and misses. It won't allow me to accelerate above 20,000 rpms. Is it time for a complete tune up, change the fuel pump and screen, or do I just need to change the fuel filter? I live in Phoenix, AZ so there's a lot of dust here.
Thanks in advance for all your help Earl |

First of all, you probably mean 2,000 RPM's. FIgured I'd get that out of the way first. It wouldn't hurt to do everything you've suggested. Also sounds like you may have a catalytic converter that could be plugged. Get under the hood and get some of the maintenance things done first to see if it helps. The car probably needs it regardless of what the problem is.

Re: 91 Buick PA acceleration issues
I hope your "complete tune up" consist of a new set of wires (ACDelco, Belden or MSD) Cheaper wires will not last on DIS ignition.
