Any Kias before 1998 sucked - known for problems. They started to improve after that. They stopped making the Sephia after the 2001 model year and merged it with the Spectra.

Iīve never drove a Spectra, of course, but especialists say that is the worst new car you could buy, you think? quality materials (dashboard for example) is below expectation for a 2003 car.

a few things for thought.. kia started out as its own company, they were then bought out by hyundai, the sound system is made by alpine, the motors made by mazda, suspension by lotus ,and it is just a variety of cars all in one, and it does have alot of potiential..Another thing which is still in the prosess of happening.. GM is going to buy Hyundai and Kia to make them an even better company than they are now...

Where is this information coming from??? Hyundai owns Kia. Anytime GM gets involved the car company goes in the toilet. Example Isuzu before GM purchased them sold 400000 units a year after GM bought them less than 25000 a year.

Wow! You got one of the good ones, then, because mine was in the shop quite a bit. Not for any major engine or transmission problems, but everything else went on it. Fuel sending unit had to be replaced, dash had to be replaced, passenger side airbag had to be replaced, multiple recalls....the service department at the Kia dealer got to know me on a first name basis. At least I was able to take the car back to the Kia dealer and trade it in on a Mitsubishi. ![]() BTW, my Kia only had 26K on it when I traded it in, and it was also a '99. |
