Nail polish? What would that solve?

CSC has been successfully used for stripping paints without damaging clear plastic, as has been ammonia. I also can't see why brake fluid would damage it, but I've never tried that.

Do not use Nail Polish remover on clear parts!!! If it is Tamiya Acrylics ammonia will strip it in 5 minutes or less. If other brand try Isopropyl Alcohol(also known as rubbing alcohol)

I used some isopropyl alcohol to rub off Tamiya acrylic paint. Do it gently, you do not want to break the lens like me. You can see it here.
