Top rad. neck broke off and motor overheated

My 91 lumina with a 3.1 overheated last night on the way home from work. I had no indication of the over heat, Didn't see the overtemp light on becuse of my sunglasses. I didn't see any steam or smoke from the car. Tried putting in some coolant and when i took off the rad. cap i noticed no presure in the system. Witch was weard, when putting a little coolant in i noticed steam coming from around the battery area. After pulling the air cleaner box out what i thought the top rad. hose came off, Futher finding's found the neck broke off and it was still inside the hose. I then towed the car home and when it was cold i reinstalled the hose on the stubby top rad. neck and fired up the motor and it has that stench of ignited coolant in the combustion chambers, Smokes white and in no time builds presure in the cooling system. So i tore down the motor, removing the head's and checking for crack's in the head's, the head gaskets and if i scored any cyclinders. The head's look ok, Haven't found my stright edge yet to see if there warped or not. The cyc. bores are not scored or cracked. There is one spot on the head gask that could of leaked combustion into the cooling system, but no crack's or burn out's. Anyone ever presure check these head's? I have a friend with a 96 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3100 motor that i can buy the hole car for 100$ and use those head's if they will interchange. 1st time i ever pulled the head's off one of these motor's so it took awhile and taged all the connector's and of course it will need a new rad. 165$ from advanced auto part's. Anyone out there have any more input for me on my problem? Tks Scott

Head's are warped and at the machine shop to get decked. 60$ aoece to deck is cheaper than 40$ for a used head that i would have to take off a motor at a junk yard, Then what if the used head's are warped. 125$ for a new rad.
