h22 install cost

how much should a full swap cost? i had a friend of mine check and a local shop said about $2500 for the motor and $850 for installation and conversion. i thought id be able to get the motor for less, but the install cost is less than i was assuming since it includes conversion. whats everyone else paid for those who've had a swap done?

your estimate sounds about right, i was given an estimate for 4000 for the complete engine, axles, mounts, parts, etc, plus install/labor. im still looking for a cheaper place but no luck so far

the lowest i could find is 700 bucks, but that's also at someone's garage, not a shop...your estimate sounds about right.

yea 850 is really good for h22 auto -> manual so its probably worth it to just get the engine for 2500 and have them install it for 850, cause they would probably charge more if you get the engine somewhere else.
