Turbo Internals

i'm confused. do pistons and rods lower or raise your compression? i'm trying to do the turbo h22a setup, and the h22a's stock compression is pretty high (10.6:1 i think). which internal parts would lower it and around how low should i go (t3/t4E)? thanks!

get some low compression pistons, but trading up to a beefier rod would'nt hurt, and may save you from an engine blow.. you should have you crankshaft inspected too.. that thing can break in half, and screw your engine too..

well they can do both raise or lower the compresion. depends which one you buy. i recomend for serious turbocharging to go below 9:1 compression something like an 8.8:1 or 8.5:1 would be good. stronger rods are a must and also blueprint and balance the crank.

honda guys would probably know more about this but i think crower makes rods for honda. heard they are pretty good.

also i would not wory so much about new cams. just get a port and polish that will help greatly with FI. also get some ajustable cam sprokets so you can tune them.

as far as pistons go je make good ones... and as far as rods are concerned crower are good, but so are eagle rods and for the most part you'll gind the eagles for much less and they are easily reliable up to 20 lbs of boost...if you really want to do cams look into bullfrog cams, heard they were good quality, however i would suggest keeping your stock ones for now and jsut get some adj cam gears.
