Ignition problem?
I am having a issue with my 2003 ford explorer 4.6L it was working fine then one day I started it up put it in drive got two feet then it shut off. When I turn the key everything comes on but it won't turn over. I tried manually on the starter it turns over but no gas was being pumped into the engine and the sparkplugs are still fireing. I checked the fuses to the fuel pump and there all good. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ignition problem?
Welcome to the forum!
When you say that it doesn't turn over, and that you manually did the starter, I trust that you mean turning the key to Start does not engage the starter motor. If that's the case, I'd suggest you try shifting to neutral and trying again. Maybe there is a problem with the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS). The anti-theft system would disable the fuel injectors but would not prevent the starter from turning the engine over and it would also cause the Theft/Security indicator to flash when trying to start the engine. -Rod |
