**MK1 Golf
Here is a old kit from me that i finnally decided to finish.
It is an old kit from Tamiya (1978 production). Nothing much to say about this car, I dont particularly like the way it turned out. mods: -changed the drivers seat -added skirts -euro tails for a more "new" look -decal placement changed to suit my tastes comments welcome as usual. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice job!!! I'm a big fan of the early Golfs and what they represented to the development of the hot hatch market - looks like a great little race-bred model
. For me, it could do with a bigger set of period wheels (new-style 18in chrome jobbies could look strange ). The profile of the tyres looks right, but the overall size just looks a bit out of whack compared to the wheel-arch flares etc.Not sure if I like the euro-style tail lights - the new seat is groovy, but the tail lights look a bit too far out of period. I'd be ecstatic if anything of mine would turn out like that!!!!!

Stubacca, you miss OZ man :P
Hey, that Golf is nice! Keep the wheels! Did you mean the actual kit is from 1979, or the car make itself ? |

But then I couldn't afford the Bimmer in OZ! Skiing's much better here too...

Even if it's an old kit, you did a great job on it. Top notch
I would put bigger rims too. Try it and it will completely change the car. Believe me. Deedlit |

I think the rims will stay the way they are for now, unless there are suggestions to what kind i should put on?

I dig it just the way it is! I prefer a smaller diameter on classic Golfs

The big style for those old golf's are the small wheels, remember these aren't civics (Most people that drive V-Dubz Have some taste)

that is hot!!!
you just dont put 17s or 18s on MK1s. Some wide 15's are whats needed on those cars for the best look. I love that model the way it is. dont change a thing! I sure wish I could find that model to build! |
