In your face Ca smog laws

Just got my car back from the shop, $320 later passes smog with flying colors!!! So after the guy took a look at it he said my car is in great shape he replaced the catalytic converter, he takes it out its melted in side (wtf) so anyway replace that adjust my timing and what not and before my number was 1117 with the max at 885 and now my number is 4.....damn!!! So even though i couldve put it in myself and saved the 70 dollars in labor, i wanted it fixed fast, so now my car is running smoothly and prefect for the drive up to oregon meet, yea baby! So in your face CA emissions cuz now im gonna put a shitload of stuff on it, including my insanely loud exhaust peeps going to oregon meet will see how loud this thing is.

Congrats!

How often do you have to get it retested? I think we have to get ours done every 2 years in ontario.

Yah I noticed that too when I had my stuff done to the car. Although it's probably just in my head.

IN THE UK ALL CARS AFTER SOMETIME IN 1991 HAD TO HAVE A CAT, BUT ANYTHING BEFORE DOESNT HAVE TO,

HOWEVER IF YOUR CAR'S CAT GOES, U HAVE TO HAVE IT CHANGE WHICH COSTS ABOUT $350 HERE

NO SMOG TESTS HERE ONLY AN MOT

an M.O.T is a test which the Ministry Of Transport do to ensure the car is safe to be on the road, checking, emissions, tyres, chassis, lights, suspension, windshield for cracks, rust, seat belts, the lot

fi it passes ur ok for the road, if not u have to have the work done before u can drive it

In Ontario we have to get that done (called a "Safety" here) PLUS have it emission tested. Huge pain in the ass..

Here, usually, when you buy a car, you have to do the emissions at that time, and if it's an odd-numbered car (like a 91), you have to do emissions on all the odd-numbered years (like 2003). So, if you bought a 91 last year (2002) and did emissions testing, you still have to do the emissions this year because it's an odd-numbered year, but you won't have to do it next year.
