Re: cam spec question
The Thumpr cams are for car show guys, the take sacrifices in drivability, power, and rpm to make the car sound "lumpy" depending on what heads your going to use(if you say stock 305 dont waste your time with a cam) but if you upgrade to something like a worked over vortec head or some thing similar(not forgetting you are limited to 1.94/1.5 valves due to the small bore on the 305) then a cam like the comp hyd roller XR269HR-12 would work nicely(vortec peak in flow at around .480-.500 lift. The part number on the cam is 08-502-8. I can also suggested someone to rune the car, Being the small cubic inch, your are going to be limited on heads not only because of the bore, but the size of the intake runner will also be something to consider. stock 305 intake runners cc somewhere around 155-160, being that you are larger cubic inch, a 165-170 cc intake runner will allow some extra flow, but still maintain airspeed/velocity, The vortec heads have a 165cc runner i believe, and flow very well for a cast iron stock GM head. Just my opinion. ask if you have any more questions.
