What speed are you doing it at? Grand Prixs have a WOT thing where it wont downshift if you are doin 40 mph and i think also at like 70 mph. Every GP does this.

Re: car bogging out

When u say "punch it" are you at a complete stop?? Are u trying to get the tires to break loose???

If so, you are probably experiencing the Traction Control system.

Other then that I can only suggest a possible misfire problem. I've seen some strange things happen when plugs go bad. One guy that I helped had a horrible bogging, wouldnt bog at the same rpm everytime, just whenever it felt like it. Turned out that the porceln(sp) part of the stock ACDELCO plugs had spiderweb type cracks. We replaced the plugs w/ Autolite 104's and everything was good.

Re: car bogging out

PLease excuse the lang gap, can I assume bog is hesitation? Because if that is the case in my car was spark plug cable 4. The insulation at near the cable tip at the sparkplug developed a crack and at higher rpms it would arck with the engine block thus the boging(if this is hesitation)

Re: car bogging out

My wife's car does something similar. She has a 99 SE. It looses power normally going around a circular exit or entrance ramp on the hwy. She has a friend who has a GT that does the same thing. She can lift her foot off the accelerator and punch it and the problem goes away for the time being.
