96 Z28 no spark problems

Ok so here's the problem. I bought this camaro cuz it only had 60000 miles on it and I knew the owner. He told me his son had took it out and it just shut off going down the road. The mechanic told him it was the opti, so I bought the whole unit and replaced, but it still would not start! I noticed the three ground wires on the coil bracket were off, so I grounded them back to the bracket, but still no start! At this point I checked for spark at the coil, and there was none so I had the icm tested and it was faulty. For good measure I replaced the coil with it, but guess what, still no spark! I don't know what else to check but the pcm. Could the loose grounds have shorted it out as well, or is there something i'm missing?

I would have the pcm tested, or find another one to swap in and try it - can't hurt.
