Welcome to the Forum!

When you say the compressor is sticking do you mean it's not coming on? If not you probably need the freon recharged. If the freon level gets too low the low pressure swtich on the accumulator/drier keeps the clutch from engaging. You can buy a recharge kit at the auto parts place. It has directions about how to charge the system. Take care and use eye protection while doing this. The system is under pressure. I suspect that you have a slow leak if it works for about a month, then quits. You might want to take it to a shop to get the leak fixed. I don't know of any way you could do that yourself.

Re: A/C runs cold then runs hot

One thing you may want to look into is the blend door - this diverts the air from the air conditioned air loop or the heated air loop to the interior of your car. When it is working properly no air from the heater core gets into your car. SInce your heater core is part of the engine cooling loop it is "always on" - so it will heat up when your car warms up. If you have a blend door problem and air is coming in from the heater it could be cool to start and then get hot when it warms up.
