motor mount 3400 v6

my engine is in a 99 pontiac grand am gt ---problem is....the bracket that the top engine mount on the motor bolts to below power steering pump broke.........my problem is i have it removed and the two center bolts are broken off that go into timining chain cover.....i feel that if i remove the timing chain cover i might be able to get pliers on broken bolts ,,,to twist them out....ive never removed this engines timining chain cover ...and was wondering if i removed it does the oil pan have to be unbolted like the chevy v8s to get the seal properly seated or...if anyone has any pictures that i may use as reference ....i cant aford to pull engine ....and a drill and tap wont fit with engine in...so my options are limited......any help would be appreciated: screwy:

Welcome to AF !

SO how did these break ??

Not certain on which bolts youre talking about. But if its the 3 that mount to the timing cover, you'll need a tap to remove the bolts.
Probly not enough sticking out to get ahold of, plus these torq pretty high, that why I asked how they got broke.

here's the closest pic I could find....

But if the bolts are broken then the mount should come lose and you'll see what You hav to work with. Vise grips might work, but I'll bet they'll need tapped out, but you might get lucky.

hope that helps!
