350Z Gulf Drift Machine

This is my choice to be part of a Gulf e-group building, as i am a big fan of japanese car, iīve decided to create a version of what could be a Gulf Drift Machine.

primer applied

White base coat to apply the Gulf orange stripes

Orange applied

Masking to create the central stripes

Masking tape used to do the stripes

Masking applied

Masking applied to the whole car

I know that the stripes looks a bit .. weird but it is some kind of effect from the camera or from the photo, donīt know

Rear side, i was not sure about the stripes going to the end of the car

Itīs very hard to make the stripes perfectly, but iīm very happy with the results.

Side look, skirts was painted with black

Following a tip from a friend, iīve removed the stripes from the bumper skirts and where was painted in black, now have carbon fiber.

I noticed that all cars have flags from the country that they belong, wouldnīt be fair if the car doesnīt have a a japanese flag.

Another tip from a friend, wheels will be painted in black, just donīt know if i do a orange thin stripe on the wheels or let a trim chrome.

Re: 350Z Gulf Drift Machine

Fantastic idea, I love Gulf liveries, and very well done so far too.

Can I make a suggestion? I know this is purely my personal taste but I'm not sure the wheels in pictures suit the car. And I would paint them orange

Re: 350Z Gulf Drift Machine

The Z looks good with the gulf colours!

Can I ask, what type of tape did you use for the thin stripes?

Re: 350Z Gulf Drift Machine

Go with the 2nd Wheel choice, I used those on a Charger I built & they look great in gloss black. Nice work

Re: 350Z Gulf Drift Machine

Just a small progress of the chassis built, i still need to work on the weathering but it is possible to check how does it will look when it get ready.

Tought that it got too lowered and i donīt even changed anything

Ashman iīve Followed your suggestion, wheels in gloss black , i loved the new look, it also helped to contrast with the orange brake disk pad and the PE that came from Hobby Design

Sorry for the dark photos, iīll try to take others during the day.

Next steps, interior and clear coat.

Thanks for visiting
