Installing Serpentine (Drive) Belt

Hi,

I think Sable 93 = ford taurus 93 as they have the same manual.

I am trying to install serpentine belt on my Ford Taurus 1993 model GL Automatic(3.0 engine V6). I have some problems operating the belt tensioner. I am not sure how to move or rotate the belt tensioner as it seems to be very tight and inflexible. Belt tensioner consists of a support(which has spring i guess) and a pulley which can be removed. The support (spring) has a special star hole. I could not use 1/2 inch or 3/8 rachet to turn it. I bought T50 and other types of hex but they seem not to work.

I guess the problem is simple and i am not doing the correct method. This is very frustrating for me as i have been doing this for two weeks. I installed a new water pump by myself without any problems but this belt installation is taking more time than expected.

Please help me with any suggestions. Pictures will be really helpful. Please give me pointers where to find it.

Thanks a lot!
