crismag, those r good looking dioramas!

I think 2f4u meant was how can he go about doing a diorama.
Like what kind of materials he needs and where to look for them?
Tips and sort.
Not for you to show off your dioramas

I think he needs small tress, add on stuff, styrenes....etc

most stuff i use come from nature like plant roots placed upside down for trees, real rocks and pebbles, real soil, dried moss and dried plants

Basic elements:
- wood for the base
- plaster for the ground
- railroad flocking material for the grass
- railroad trees (different sizes, depends on the scale of your cars)
- fine grid paper 800 (once painted grey/black it'll give you a road or street )
- differents sizes of stones, sand, dried bough of trees, ...

Basic steps:
- place your elements for a first try on the wood
- draw the lines of your road, the grass or other elements
- glue your street ( if you have one)
- place the plaster where is the ground
- insert some stones in the ground
- insert your trees (pin in the trunk , drill a hole in the base then glue)
- paint the ground in brown
- glue the flocking material on the ground (woodglue + water --> liquid glue)
- paint the flocking (if needed)

Tips & Tricks to add some realism to your diorama:
- mudd ground = dark brown paint + gloss clear coat
- rainy day = gloss clear coat on 80% of diorama
- you can make a brown wash and a black wash on your ground
- drybrush of light color (sand, mid-brown) on the ground
- drybrush of light-grey on your road ( on the broders of your road)
- drybrush of black where the cars ram on the brakes
- drybrush of light-green or yellow on the grass

The material can be found in all good hobby shop and/or DIY
Hope it helps you. Don't hesitate if you have further questions.

You pros with dioramas should post a thread and show it off, seriously.

We dont have that much in AF, would be wonderful too to see more of your dioramas in pics.

And while you are at it, do share with us some tips.

Sweet ass dioramas Crismag!!!

Does anybody know anything that will simulate a brick wall? I want to make a motorsports shop coming out of the wall and have a parking lot where I will show my models (they don't even compare to the models I see on this site but they do the trick)
