I dont get this

It is talking about a national race with price money, but its talking about model cars. I am very confused. does anyone know what this is all about?

I don't think it is awesome, mainly because often plastic model kits are used to build these slot cars that will end up broken to pieces quite often.

I thought they were specifically for slot cars. Youre right, it is not awesome if they beat them up, considering they are not always readily available cars for reasonable prices. kind of like the movie business in Hollywood destroying old cars for movies.

on the other hand, there are some slot-car body makers out there making bodies of cars in 1/24 that don't appear in a kit.

I think a lot of them are using resin bodies, as they can be cast thinner and much lighter
