how to support engine when removing mounts
97 grand am, 3.1L
Im changing the intake manifold gasket on my car. i need to take the engine mount off. i tried sticking a block of wood and a 2 ton jack underneath to support the motor, but when i loosen the bolts, the motor was dropping down. do i need a bigger jack? what is the proper way to support the motor? |

Re: how to support engine when removing mounts
Put piece of 2x4 under the crankcase and use jack to lift it up, give it couple of pumps with mount on. It should be ok. No you don't need bigger jack engine is not more than 350lb
