Radio now oicks ups engine

I changed my battery, and new E3 spark plugs. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but now my radio picks up really bad engine noise on AM band. FM / XM all work fine just AM. Did work fine in the past, but over the past few months got really bad.

2006 TB 4.2L EXT LT

Feels like a ground wire or somthing - any suggestions?

This happened after the plugs were installed?, if so. could be a bad connection from the coil to the plug causing arcing, this could set up noise in the am radio. Check your antenna lead in also.

Yes I was thinking it might be a bad connection from coil to plug.

On this '06, it uses those bolt down coils, you just put them in and tighten up the bolt to secure it.

I'll take them off and try a touch of that spark plug wire grease, and re-seat them.

Any trick to making sure the coils are installed properly?

Just guide the boot carefully onto the plugs.
