95z bad acceleration

I seem to have fixed all the other problems i was having except 1. I blew the head gaskets on my Z and it sat in the garage for about 2 months. Tore it apart and changed everthing, now I have an issue when it runs for about a minute or so when i get on it, it boggs down and has terrible acceleration. I just changed the opti, coil, icm, oil pressure sender, new plugs. Engine light was on previously gave codes, 48 and 29. swapped out my MAS sensor... checked fuses and there was a bad one for the air pump, changed it and the ses light went off.... Im thinking a fuel filter needs replaced? Im at a loss here. It ran perfectly fine before i blew the gaskets. PLEASE HELP!!! its a little rough at idle, but i had cut my cat off and ran 3" out the back to the flowmaster....

Re: 95z bad acceleration

What gaskets did you blow? Did you change all fluids out?

Re: 95z bad acceleration

Drivers side head gasket.... after i put it all back together i flush the coolant system and changed the oil. just hooked up a pressure tester and its holding 40 psi even under load. But i noticed a misfire today, so Im gonna recheck my plug wires. I put new plugs in when I put everything back together. Any other suggestions? considering everything else is new i can only imagine its my wires. Pisses me off cause they are only about 6-8 months old MSD cables

Re: 95z bad acceleration

OreoZ, when you say it bogs down is there a hesitation after you hit the pedal, and then it takes off or is it once you hit the gas it bogs and you have to feather the pedal just to keep it running?

Re: 95z bad acceleration

It wont stall out on me completely.... as long as i stay barely on the gas it accelerates fine and sounds good. But the second i mash it, it makes this aweful sound and starts shaking like its gonna die, but it will eventually get up and go. Exhaust sounds weird also

Re: 95z bad acceleration

I'd check compression as well as the firing order.

Re: 95z bad acceleration

Its pinging under a load... I checked my knock sensor, was fine but replaced it anyways... Pulled my injectors out, taking them to a guy to have them checked and cleaned. I checked for vacum leaks had none, changed all my plug wires to 8.5mm MSD's. so Im hoping its a fuel injector cause im lost here.
