service light on but no code

I have a 2001 cavalier with the sevice light on. i hooked up my scanner but there are no codes. My daughter recently wrecked it and knocked out the passenger side headlight and turn signal. Will the service light come on if a bulb is out? Thanks.

The cel lite will not come on for burnt bulb, maybe you mean a different indicator.

Re: service light on but no code

There are two lights......SES(Service Engine Soon.....same as Check Engine light).....the other is the SVS(Service Vehicle Soon).....this usually comes on when there is a DRL problem or headlight problem, and does not set a code....
