1/24 L.M.P. Mirage GR8

I did hunt this kit for couple of years with no luck, but couple of weeks ago i finally found one on ebay for reasonable price (not so reasonable, according to my wife).

Here is what is inside the box:

Body seems to be ok quality and shape. I've already primered it. Also two PE plates were glued on top of the air intakes on the doors

Here are the rest of larger resin parts, tub, seats and nicely molded engine/transmission.

Small PE sheet is included.

There are two bags of white metal parts + turned intake trumpets and one bag of smaller resin parts.

Rims are turned aluminium, and tires hard rubber-like material. Some cleanup is needed.

Decals seem to be good quality and markings for both '75 and '76 LM entries are on the sheet. I'm a bit concerned about their age though.

Instructions are not that good, photocopy quality from 90's i believe. All written in japanese, so i need to get some really good references. Luckily parts count of this kit is so low that it shouldn't be too hard to figure out where everythig goes.

Interesting kit and subject. If you are concerned about the decals coat them with Klear/Pledge before use.

Enjoy the build. Did this one myself many years ago when the kit was new. First model I spent more than I wanted to but I had to have it! Don't remember any issues with it. Will you build the LeMans winner or the JCB version?

I really wish Fisher or MFH would release a version of this car. I have been looking for one for a long time as it's one of my favorite LeMans winners.

Luckily there are enough extra decals to make some tests before using the correct markings.

I'll build the '75 Winner, can't beat the Gulf livery.

I really wish they DON'T release this. I'd get at least two Fisher kits for what i paid for this.

There is some progress to show also, i did the wheels and tires. Decals are from parts box, everything else OOB. Wheel centers & brake disks are painted with Testors Metalizers.

Re: 1/24 L.M.P. Mirage GR8

Finished building the dashboard. I replaced all kit details with PE, decals and turned metal detail items found on my parts box.

I painted the Gulf blue on body also, still needs the orange parts masked and painted.

What a cool design, Niko: quite interesting shape. I'm sure it will magnificent under Gulf battle suit!

Re: 1/24 L.M.P. Mirage GR8

Gulf orange is now painted. No problems with masking, but needs quite a lot of polishing to look good.

Very nice. I saw on a Japanese website someone has bought all the old Little Garage masters and parts. This car, the 908/3 and the Lancia would be great reissues!!!
