Anybody seen the video of the stock Z06 Corvette racing an Elise racing car around a track?

I have it on my computer and I will e-mail it to you. PM me if you want it and supply your e-mail and I'll forward it to you.

For those of you who want to know what it's like, I tell you Man that Vette put the smackdown on that Elise, at some points in the race the Vette literally disappears from view and you can tell like hell the guy is trying to run him down.

At one point he gets to within a few feet of the Vette but once they hit the straightaway-it's good night Elise.

I wish we could post videos on this forum, I'd paste it to this thread so you guys can drool like I did.

it doesnt hurt that an elise has like 140 hp. id say it does pretty well

Are you sure about the hp rating on that car? The one I saw seemed to have more as it was the actual one they use to race on the circuit.

That would be ashame if it only has 140hp and was able to keep up with that Vette at certain points in the race.

I don't know anything about the Elise but it was a pretty stout looking car and it was kinda fast.

yeah granted theyre lighter than shit, but they have like 140-150. they do honda motor swaps into elises now, and they run mid 12s with stock motros. its crazy

The lotus only kept up in the corners because of its specs. Its only a 5-speed also. But when the vette hit the straits it got far away...

The lotus had much more downforce, and acceleration, so therefore when they were going throught the winding corners of Nordschleife, it was able to keep up...

yeah, i assumed they shared the same motor. 156 and 200.. either way, theyre all impressive cars

Thanks for all the info you guys posted, now I know a lil bit more about the Elise.
Still it's a slammin video and a true picture of what the Z06 can do on the track.

And if your intrested in seeing other videos at Nordschleife check out http://www.motorcycle-dk.com/ There is a really good video there of a Ferrari 360 Modena, very high quality, 145MB video! Unfortuanately the site is down somewhat, server problems, bandwith issues, and the origina owner of the site was killed at Nordschleife last year when he was on his motorcycle... Its a pretty neat site.
