Exclamation silverado idle problem

i had just got done eating with some friends and i drove to a car lot so my friends could look at a car and i left my truck running with the ac on it was about 85 degrees out and when we got done my i went to put my truck into gear and it started to sputter and wanting 2 die and i tryed to give it gas and nothing it was like i had no trottle at all i tryed to drive it down the road and trying to give it gas and it was barely moving then all of a sudden dies and wont start back up..about 20 mins later pulled to my house then tryed to start it it would start and idle about 200 rpms and die a second after i start it so i try it again and same so i let sit for about an hour go out and starts fine and i have drove it about 4 or 5 miles and acts like it fine what do u think PLEASE HELP

To start off what yr is your truck, gas or diesel? I had a similar problem with my truck i have a 2008. it would aslo throw a code which was the catalytic converters had a problem.

with your problem It would be most likely the fuel pressure is too low. with no failure codes DTC's this is a first step in troubleshooting ..follow the testing proceedure listed in these forums for your vehicle you must have 53-62 psi ...these vehicles require that the fuel level be kept at above 1/4 tank...operating below 1/4 the fuel pump burns out ...

the reason to follow the testing proceedure is to determine what componet in the fuel system is the problem..If the pump is defective , replace the fuel filter,and relay...

If you give the bottom of the fuel tank a hit to shock it it , may work for a short time ,,if so this is 95% chance the pump is shot..
