a/c compressor clutch
please let me know if you have any info they want to charge me 1000 to replace the a/c clutch compressor and a couple other items

Welcome to the Forum!
The clutch and the compressor are fairly expensive items to replace on your A/C system. Also, once the system has been opened up the receiver/ drier will have to be replaced if you have any moisture or foreign particles in it. Some of the system components are really difficult to get to. The evaporator under the dish is several hours of labor to get to. Once all the repairs have been made the system will have to be evacuated and recharged. This is an accurate quote for getting that kind of work done and it gets really hot in Austin in the summer time..
