Question ac/ heat venting

I am helping a buddy work on a 2001 dodge ram 1500. The problem is that the ac and heat will only blow at your feet? Any ideas?

Re: ac/ heat venting

I'd want to check actuators, directional doors. They should be vacuum operated. I'd want to check vacuum at each setting, floor--defrost--dash, whatever.

I agree with jdl, sounds like you're lost vacuum.

From one pal to another...a free service manual and it's good.

Re: ac/ heat venting

I had this same problem on my 99, under the dash behind the cup holder, and behind the air-bag switch, is a blend door. and the rod fell off of mine,
kind of hard to get your hands in there but not a hard fix, just snap it back on. hope that takes care of it for you.
