eclipses are slow unless it is turbo, celicas unless it is brand new i think they are kinda ugly, i love my integra... my friend has a 96PGT and i can only take him by about 1 car lengh and he only has an exhuast and K&N (thats without me using nitrous PGT's are nice cars - still ford though /well more mazda i think....

If you want to get a probe, get an older GT turbo... We used to have one, it ran a 12.9 quarter mile...

check quotes out, an older probe might be cheaper to insure than a 97? I dont know. The older ones are definatly faster though.

Dayna240sx, what are you talking about... you absolutely know nothing at all about probes, or any cars in that fact. A older Probe GT turbo would never run 12.9 in the 1/4 stock! I had a 93 PGT, It had ground effects and I had the car converted to a 5 speed from a automatic, I put a clutchmasters clutch in it, I had a cold air intake, headers and a aerospeed exaust. I race a older turbo GT and beat it by about 3 cars lengths in the quarter miles.

So if you think a older GT Turbo ran 12.9 in the quarter stock... you are saying it would beat a brand new Corvette that has 350 horsepower? It would roast on brand new WS6 Trans am ram airs and SS Camaros? That is the funniest thing I have ever heard. It might run 12.9 in a 1/8 mile!

My probe ran a 15.7 at norwalk with brand new tires and 96k miles on the odometer. A older turbo GT I am guessing would run a 16-16.4 in the quarter. 12.9??? I don't think so!

Mete0ra86... buy a 93-97 Probe GT. In your case they are the best bang for the buck. The Eclipse won't keep up with it unless it is a GS-T. The integra, you won't find a good looking one in your price range for $4300. Plus... they are both about the same in the 1/4 Actually I think a stock PGT would take a Integra LS in the 1/4. The Celica, those are just plain ugly!

Hope my advice helped!

Oh and Holy Roller, I saw your Probe on ebay. I read the thing at the bottom about the CAI making your car burn oil. That is NOT TRUE what-so-ever. That will have nothing to do with it. The only problem the CAI will cause on a car is tripping the oxygen sensor because the car isn't used to getting that much air into the intake manifold. To resolve this, you have to reset your computer. But about your car burning oil... all cars start to burn or leak oil when they get a lot of miles on them. And your car had 156k.. so... yeah

Ok who doesnt know anything about cars?

Quotes from a recent AIM convo with this guy trying to start shit...

Elijah2Cute4U: wheels or tires have nothing to do with how fast your car is gonna go
WAAPST: i found that by switching the front wheels/tires i could trim ~.4 seconds per run
Elijah2Cute4U: that is all
Elijah2Cute4U: oh please

Elijah2Cute4U: just stop
Elijah2Cute4U: your stupidity is killing me

Elijah2Cute4U: 2200 pounds is very light. My pgt weighed 3600
WAAPST: the 12valve mazda engine in the probe is pretty stout
Elijah2Cute4U: Probes have mitsubishi engines in them
WAAPST: no they don't
Elijah2Cute4U: at least the 93-97 do
WAAPST: nope, still Mazda
Elijah2Cute4U: no
WAAPST: bet ya?
Elijah2Cute4U: okay show me
WAAPST: MX-6 and Ford Probes are the same chassis
WAAPST: smae drivetrain
Elijah2Cute4U: okay
WAAPST: same oil filter,
Elijah2Cute4U: that would also explain why the mistubishi cars all have 5 x 114.3 bolt patterns, and that is the same for the probe
WAAPST: probe and MX-6 also have the same 114.3 x5 wheel lug spacing
WAAPST: as does my RX-7(s), and my 240
Elijah2Cute4U: Okay well sorry to cut you short but I g2g
Elijah2Cute4U: ttyl

Ok guys, do you really want to listen to a guy with the screenname "elijah2cute4u"???

Alright people... mr know it all over here, who is talking about a stock turbo probe gt running 12.9 beating corvettes. Yeah well since when is stock turning up the boost, using a boost controller. And to take it this guy thinks he shaved .4 seconds off his 1/4 mile time by changing the front tires to the back and the back to the front..... haha. "Oh my car weighs 2200 pounds but yet it is stock" Who wants to buy a car and take everything out of the car, back seats, passenger seat, driver seat just to make it go a little faster. "I used a plasma cutter and cut holes all over it to make it lighter" "I ran a 100 shot of NOS through my car and now I am badass cause I ran a 12.9 in the 1/4 mile.

Anyone can take a car and cut shit off of it, what are you supposed to do when you wanna go out with friends?? "Sorry guys, my car was normally slow so I thought I would take out all the seat and carpet and stuff to make it faster" Cause I can't afford a real "STOCK" fast car. Yes stock, meaning came from the factory and you have done nothing to it. Anyone can buy a car and cut it all apart and take stuff out of it to make it lighter. I think I am gonna go out and buy a Geo metro and tub it out, and switch the back wheels to the front and maybe throw some "NOS" on it and I will be beating Vipers! WOW!

This guy is a total loser!

Dude, i didnt say i switched my tired from the front and back. Learn to read and interpert. Have you ever heard of racing slicks?

"Anyone can take a car and cut shit off of it, what are you supposed to do when you wanna go out with friends?? "Sorry guys, my car was normally slow so I thought I would take out all the seat and carpet and stuff to make it faster""

Actually the probe was a car I picked up for $500 and just wanted to see what it could do with the smallest amount of money. If I want to go take out my friends, Id take them in the WRX since it is the only car I have with a backseat.

"Cause I can't afford a real "STOCK" fast car. Yes stock, meaning came from the factory and you have done nothing to it. "

Ok, thats why I own a 240sx, a WRX, three RX-7s, etc... Because I cant afford a real stock fast car.

"This guy is a total loser!" Ok Elijah2Cute4U, your just mad because a girl you.

WOW, The hatred in here.....

"Probes have mitsubishi engines in them"
That is wrong, HOWEVER, there are DSM parts on those engines. Mazda makes the motor, however, for example, the VRIS solenoids ARE Mitsu. It even has the triangle on it, so the confusion is possible.

"We used to have one, completely stock... It ran a 12.9 quarter mile"
Yea, right........

"i love my integra... my friend has a 96PGT and i can only take him by about 1 car lengh "
Your friend must not be as good of a driver as you are. I seldom loose to Teg's that are not EXTENSIVELY modified. (Or Juiced)

"The older ones are definatly faster though."
This is true. However, the 2nd gens are a LOT sexier.

"Anyone can buy a car and cut it all apart and take stuff out of it to make it lighter."
Can I stop laughing now? Not eveyone can do it, correctly.

As for the ORIGIONAL Question. I have owned my 93 GT with a manual 5 speed for all 10 years of it's life. As with any car, take care of it and it will take acre of you. The motor finally spun a rod bearing at 225K miles. I have only put 1 clutch in it (although I am putting another one in with the rebuild) so the car can last. They are quick, look nice, good with the ladies, and handle like a dream.
