1996 Taurus noisy right turn
I have a 1996 Taurus that makes a grinding sound during right hand turns at Highway speed, it is present at slower speeds, but is subtle; it can also be felt in the steering wheel. I have changed the right hand wheel bearing assemble, but the noise is still present.
I do not hear any knocking or clicking with tight turns as a CV joint would make and the boots are not torn. Any help is very much appreciated. |

Check the integrity of your engine and transaxle mounts.

Re: 1996 Taurus noisy right turn
have you ruled out the left wheel bearing?....as you turn right the left bearing is loaded and will growl at speed when bad.

Re: 1996 Taurus noisy right turn
Thank you for the suggestions. I'll check the engine and transaxle mounts and left wheel bearing.

Re: 1996 Taurus noisy right turn
I changed the left side wheel bearing assembly and that fixed the noise.
Thanks for all of the assistance |
