Air Bag Module
Can anyone tell me how to remove the air bag computer module from my 2000 Impala LS? I believe it is under the RF seat, it needs to be reset and if there are any issues I should be aware of; like disconnecting the battery first or disabling the Anti Theft Audio system?
Thanks for any and all info................

Re: Air Bag Module
What do mean reset, there is no way you can do this, if there is a code that must be repaired, if the sirs was deployed that is another situation, there is no "reset"

Re: Air Bag Module
Yes, I meant repaired, no air bags deployed, but the air bag light on the dash stays on all the time. There is a company called Air Bags .com that will repair and reset the module. I just need Info on how to remove the module.................

How do you know that is the problem without a scan for the code, could be anything else. Mine was a bad clock spring in the column, same symptoms.

Re: Air Bag Module
Ok, so can they scan for the air bag light at, like Auto Zone, where they do the scans for free, or do I have to take to the dealership?

Re: Air Bag Module
AZ cannot do this you need a high line scanner, most good shops have the ability to at least get the code. Call around, if not then the dealer.
