I drive a Plymouth Grand Voyager SE 3.0 L automatic.
Ok, about three months ago, my backup lights stopped working. At first it was just a blown fuse, but after a few times changing the fuse, it stayed but the backup lights still didn't work. I still have all the rest of my rear marker lights. I mention the rear lights only because I believe it may be related. I put my key in the ignition, my instrument panel needles jump around, my instrument panel lights light up and flicker and various indicator beeps do so but erratically, but I am unable to get my vehicle to turn over. Sometimes it clicks several times, sometimes it does not. I have had the battery checked, and it is ok. I have checked the cables and they are ok. This is an intermittent problem. On the occasion that I turn the keys and I don't have all the intermittent needle jumping, etc, the starter works like a dream. This leads me to believe I have a bad sensor or something to that effect. Am I headed in the right direction? I am guessing I need to check the neutral safety switch, as this would possibly be related to the lack of backup marker lights. I know that it can affect the ignition, but can it affect it in the way that I described above? Is there anything else I should check? Any and all help will be appreciated. This is a link that sounds much like what I have going on. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=285537 I will be taking the battery in to get checked under load.
