Check Engine Light - weak acceleration
My check engine light is on. When I press the gas, the RPM increases but the car barely accelerates. I don't know anything about cars. What's wrong with it and can I fix it myself?

Re: Check Engine Light - weak acceleration
Welcome to the forum!
We're going to need a lot more information to provide much help. For starters, what is the year, make, and model of the car? Also, what engine does it have? Does the engine idle fine, or is it rough? When was the last tune up performed? Did anything happen to the car or the weather just prior to this loss of power? -Rod |

Re: Check Engine Light - weak acceleration
i agree, go get it scanned at a local advance auto parts or autozone for free... write down the code, have them reset it with their OBD II scanner & then see if it comes back to confirm the same code...
go from there |
