94 3.4 security light.

when the security light does not come on the car will not crank. replaced ignition worked for a while. now the buzzer showing the keys are in the ignition also will not work. any ideas.. wonder if it has something to do with the VATS system. would a bypass fix this.

you replaced the ignition cylinder with a new part or used?? Typically the contacts in the ignition cylinder wear out and make poor contact with the resistor pellet in the key. This changes the pellet resistance and the car thinks a wrong key is being used.

I have bypassed the system by punching out the pellet from the key and soldering it into the orange/ white wiring at the key cylinder. this defeats the immobilizer but the car runs.
