hi voltage

I have 97 jeep tj 4.0L voltage gauge is right to the max with the check gauge light on. Also batt is flat as soon as I turn it off, when it is running my gauges go all crazy, I'm assuming its the voltage reg in the alternator???

so I just learnt that the pcm controls the voltage regulator, so I don't know if I should change the alternator or pcm, some input on this would be great!

whats the actual charging voltage at the battery with a voltmeter?, the green/orange wire to the back of the alternator controls the field

yeah I checked at the batt. I rolled the dice and changed the alt and that was the problem thanks though !
