There was a card with the code in my owner's manual (before the manual was stolen
 ). Anyhow, I believe I subsequently found code on a plate (was thinking behind the back seat) attached the truck. I just did a quick look, but couldn't find it again.The base code can't be changed, if I remember properly, but additional codes (maybe up to five) can be added. I bet the Ford dealer will be able to provide the base code for your truck, if all else fails. Steve 2004 Sport Trac XLT

Head back to the Explorer forum main page. The Sticky at the VERY TOP of the list should provide you some locations to check for it.
As mentioned, the base code cannot be changed by the user, but one additional code can be set once you know the base code. -Rod
