power window problem

96 sts drivers side window was stuck down. replaced the switch...didnt fix it. pulled off the door panel. noticed motor was getting power...manualy put window back up. and motor and switch work bringing the window down.
figured the motor was bad since it is getting power to both wire terminals. replaced the motor with a new one. same problem
what am i missing? the brown and blue wire are both getting power when the switch is used...but the motor wont work in in the up position..even when disconnected from the window. is there a relay i should be looking for or a fuse?? ?

Re: power window problem

one wire should be hot and the other ground when raising the window then when the switch is in the down position the previous hot wire is changed to ground and the ground to hot. you do not have a ground if both wires are hot. do your other windows work? I think you either don't have a ground at the switch or a bad switch. you would need to check with a test light or volt meter.
