Unhappy PLZ help 94 grand am ignition fuse keeps blowin!

Here is the details i have a 94 grand am 3.1 v6 I have had this car for sum yrs never had any problem a couple months back while driving it would just shut off. Well come to find out my ign fuse would be blowing ,,, i would replace it and it would start up and run just fine ,,, sinse then my daughter owns the car and it happened again and she replaced the fuse and it started up fine but while out of town it just shut off and now even if you replace the fuse it just blows ,,,just as you turn the key ,,,,it blows ,,,,So i did sum research and replaced the ignition switch ,,,,tryed to start it and it still blows so im at my wits end ,,,can anyone tell me what the damn fuse runs , does anyone have any idea what could be wrong ,,,If i knew what every component that fuse ran , i could figure it out by process of elimination ,,,I have the Chilton book but i still can't seem to find what all components that one ign fuse runs ,,,,,So if anyone has any idea's PLZ HELP it is a 94 grand am 3.1 v6 Thanks

Re: PLZ help 94 grand am ignition fuse keeps blowin!

I am wondering if it could be the ICM that is causing the fuse to blow. I do not have a repair manual to look at, I also do not know if it has an ICM. Just a thought.

just checked your veh. el. diagram, check wires to ckp, cam and icm they all share pink wire from ignition fuse (check for damage or contact with hot engine parts or damaged insulation) try disconnecting cam sensor see if it blows.

Also supplies ignition feed voltage to the PCM.

That is correct, thx I forgot to mention that,

this is how I would approach this problem:

disconnect ckp, cam and icm connector with pink wire, disconnect fuse for ignition and disconnect pcm connectors then use dvom set to measure continuity and test each of the pink wires if it has continuity with engine or chassis that means short. Do wiggle test for each also since problem is intermittent
