1993 Cadillac CoupeDeVille Fuel Data Center/Climate Control Center & No Reverse Gear

Bought the car 3 days ago well actually traded a stereo system for it after the motor in my 99 honda Passport siezed up on the interstate! Car has tons of minor but annoying problems. but just two major problems: 1st thing is reverse gear dont work you can feel it shift into reverse but just revs up and bogs down at same time if that makes sense lol but shifts good going forward in all gears seems a little sluggish on take off as well any ideas? 2nd thing Fuel Data Center and Climate Control Center doesnt work or at least the readout dont work. Something blinks on it during start up, but as soon as it pops up its gone, but the lights on the buttons are lit! All fuses are good. Previous owner(s) has wires hanging everywhere and I dont know where to start.Any help no matter how small is greatly appreciated! Thanks I am mechanically inclined to a degree, mostly outside engine, no idea on trannys!

No way to tell you what is wrong in the wiring and display. The trans, if full,has more than likely lost reverse, this requires an an overhaul.

A friend of mine said something about the transmission band may be needed to be tightened is this possible problem? thanks for the reply Ill check in a few hours if the tranny fluid is full

There are no adjustments, as I said more than likely this will need major repairs.

Well that sucks, so even without reverse is the transmission still good to drive or is it a matter of time that other gears and/or transmission will fail! And any idea or suggestion about the fuel data center and climate not working? I cannot even find a fuse labeled for them

With all the jumbled wiring you said is under there you need a factory wiring diagram to track this down, as for the trans it may go for quite a while like that.

Any idea on how to get a wiring diagram besides going to dealership?
