Engine Swap

Hello, I am in need of some answers. I have a 2003 Silverado, it is ext cab,2 wheel drive it has the 4.8L and auto trans. How hard would it be to swap one of the 6.0L from the 03-04 denali"s into this truck. I am looking for more power and told that the 5.3L isnt much more than my current engine. So i guess that I need to go with the 6.0L. Will this motor meet up with my current stock trans. I ask because I just had the trans totally rebuilt and that cost me $1450.00 and would like to still use? Please help if anyone knows anything about this swap?

Re: Engine Swap

if i were you i would go over to fullsizechevy.com and go through there forums page. They have a lot of information on situations like this. i joined last week about some performance gains seeing as how people on here ignore my threads and i haven't regretted it yet.

Re: Engine Swap

Don' the 6.0 engines use the 4l80E trans rather than the 4l60E like on the 1/2 tons? Don't know if hte plug/ connectors are the same...I suspect they are not.
