o/d lamp flashing

Hi sirs,
My brother in law have a mazda protege 1999 with almost 115000 km on it.Yesterday while driving the od lamp start flashing and the transmission didn't shift as it must.It has been scan and come up with the trouble code P0734.
What has to be done to solve this problem.
