serpentine belt on '08

15k miles - but the serpentine belt is split, need to change. Dealer tells me 12k is all the warrenty for the belt. Oh joy.

I need to replace myself as even if I took it to the dealer it's a week until they can get me in. Gotta love Dodge!!

Anyway - how do I change this? I'm going to go to autozone but can't find a haynes manual for this one yet. Is there belt tensioner required? - looking for a bit of help.

Not sure what engine you have but if it is the same as 2001 with 3.8 then take a look at my previous post - "Trick to change 2001 3.8 L fan belt" You may find it helpful. It took me about 45 min from start to test drive.

But definitely get the Haynes Manual first. Good luck.

I've got the 4.0L, on this '08 the wheel well does not look like it comes off so your trick won't work, but good idea

They do not make a Hayes repair manual yet for this. I need to wait about 2 more years for that.

Anyway the way to change it is to do it from underneath witht he van on a lift. Then it was not that difficult of a task, real easy for me as I just paid my local mec $40 to throw it on. I generaly like to do things myself, but did not have the time and the wife needed this back in service ASAP
