Shuts down after a hittiing bump.
About a year ago my '98 Intrigue turned off after running over a set of RR tracks. I put it in N & it started right up. Tonight I hit a pretty small bump & it did the same thing.
I've read a few of the ignition switch threads but this doesn't seem to be related. Do I have a bad ground? Any other ideas? Thanks.

Re: Shuts down after a hittiing bump.
it very well could be a bad ignition switch. the bumps can jar the switch enough that it momentarily loses connection and shuts the car off.
I would also check your battery and ground connections first (it's free) to eliminate this possibility. I would also take any unnecessary charms, trinkets, stuff off of your key chain. The added weight could be a contributing factor. |
