1/12th Lotus 47 Snorkel

Anyone interested in my attempts to build this car?

My aim is to use the rare Nichimo 1/12th kit (that seems to be going for stupid money nowadays!). Trouble is; the kit is based on the whimpey looking S2 Europa shell, whilst the 47 is closer to the (IMHO) far nicer looking S1 body. Lotus have a habit of doing this...I think the S2 Elise is an abomination compared to the beautiful S1!

The body will require loads of mods, which I'm up for at the moment as I need project I can quickly dive into. The RS60 scratch build is fun, but I need something I can pick up and put down very quickly, until I finish being busy at college. Have some ideas that may push the build along...the Tamiya Porsche 910 Dunlops happen to fit a treat too!

Yes. I am interested! Although not this particular car~~~the snorkel! You are right about the S1, it looks much better than the S2!

Ever interested to follow vintage wips in big scale, especially if the creator is Cinqster

I would spend my 2 cent for another "quick-intrepid" chance: may be a Trump GT40? I would guess that it may be inside the range of your taste but mainly, selfishly, I would like to see you and your machining gears over the beast

He he...Hi G-man!

Going to try to keep this one simple as a relief to the tricky machining stuff...a real 'cut & shut job! Having said that I've already drawn the wheels with the idea of turning alluminium rims, so who knows?!

Will do Mike. Still weighing the things up to do on it. I was getting my head around the idea of blending in the rear bumper only to find there isn't one on this kit..LOL! Got to see if the generic Hewland F1 box will fit - not the correct version but should be tweakable (choppable).
