Exclamation Possible axle or suspension issue...i've seen this fish before...

If anyone read my previous post, I mentioned my 93 lumina had lots of little problems before axle failure at 206,000 miles, and 70mph (it gets the blood pumping...lol). Anyway, I've recently noticed that now and then when I back out of a parking spot and turn the wheel, there is some grinding/popping sort of noise, very similar to my 93 in the months leading up to its demise. Going from experience, my first thought is axle, cv joint, something in that region that if I don't address it soon, I will end up in the same boat. In my 93, it looked like it broke clean where it connects to the transmission or whatever the axles connect to in the middle of the front end. I also wonder if something like that could trigger a transmission slip trouble code. My other hunch is that some suspension part is starting to wear out, since I've driven the car over 40,000 miles in 2 years and had no struts or anything worked on. I'm curious to hear your input, just to see if my notions are well-founded.
