starting issue?

Greetings all,

Just bought my wife a 2007 Rendezvous with ~23K miles (instead of her old Jimmy), the car looks and drives like new - I like it!

Only one thing bothers me, and not sure if it is a problem or not: when i want to start the car, i need to push the gas pedal (just a little bit while turning the key), other wise it just starts and dies (after less than a sec) - is this normal? i never had this in her old Jimmy or my Lesabre ( i just "touch" the key and the car runs like a champ on my other cars).
